The only thing more exciting than becoming a big sibling is watching your little one gain a baby brother/sister… or at least, you HOPE that introduction will match the beautiful vision you’ve imagined! What can you do ahead of time to help your young big-sibling-to-be prepare for this transition? How can you continue supporting their emotions and needs after bringing your baby home? This add-on is geared towards giving you (the parent) tips on how to help your child adjust to this big change, and also includes a couple of activities done in session with your child(ren) to help them prepare for and understand more of the big change that’s coming with the birth of their new sibling.

Are you desiring for your mom, sister, friend, etc to attend your birth, but hesitant that their previous birth experiences might interfere with them being able to support you in the way you envision? Does one of your planned support people have birth trauma of their own that needs more processing so they can support you unhindered? This add-on allows me to meet with them to help process their fears and to facilitate conversations between both of you to solidify practical ways they can offer optimal, nonjudgmental support during your birth.

With so much time and energy spent preparing for birth and gathering supplies for your new baby, planning for the specifics of postpartum survival can sometimes be all but forgotten. How can your family’s routines and needs still be met while honoring YOUR need for rest, healing, and establishing breastfeeding? In this appointment, we will work together to envision and set up an in-home breastfeeding station and brainstorm specific plans that will help optimize your postpartum support based on your specific situation.
